The new gaming hub from the company.

At the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas today, the company will be showing off a new lineup of smart TVs, including features like radio-wave powered remote controls and support for NFTs, as well as the first sets in a while to let you play triple-A video games from In October, it was announced that select 2022 models would include access to the Utomik cloud gaming service, as well as access to the GeForce Now and Stadia gaming services.
The gaming hub is more than just for cloud gaming. The company says that your video game consoles will be part of it as well. You might be able to play cloud games and console games with the same controller, instead of having to maintain separate controllers or pair back and forth, with both consoles supported at launch. It is promising that it will create game recommendations on your TV's home screen.
It is interesting to see TV manufacturers embrace cloud gaming again. In 2012 and 2015, both of them competed for the rights to stream games from OnLive, but this winter both of them are back in the game.
It is not clear whether the best picture and audio quality for cloud gaming will be offered by either of the two companies. The product director of the gaming division of the company said that they are working with partners to bring their best levels of service to the platform. As we get closer to launch, we will be announcing details.
If you have an earlier version of the Smart TV, there is no guarantee you will get access to any of these features. The Gaming Hub will be available to even more customers when the new models are released.
It is interesting to me that Microsoft's xCloud isn't part of the launch. We got xCloud on a smart fridge and some phones from Microsoft in February 2020, but the XBOX app for smart TVs that Phil Spencer told us about in November 2020 hasn't materialized yet. It was only mentioned in June last year before the E3 2021.
The Steam Link app will not be part of the Gaming Hub, according to The Verge.
The TVs will not come with pre-installed games, but will be offered via the hub. The controllers of the Xbox and PS3 will be supported for passthrough.
