Burnley's Matt Lowton struck by bottle in Leeds United game

Lowton was hit while celebrating.

A bottle was thrown at Matt Lowton during the game at Leeds.

The defender was hit by a plastic bottle full of liquid as he celebrated the goal.

Lowton stopped to show the referee a red mark on his forehead after the incident.

Sean Dyche told Sky Sports that they don't want to see that.

I don't want to over-egg that, it was a great atmosphere in the stadium, but we were on the wrong end of that atmosphere.

"That would have weight on it, it's hit him in the face," said McNamara, who was at the game.

It's unnecessary to remove bottle tops and searches for drinks in scenes like that. There is no reason to do that.
