Twitter Permanently Suspends Marjorie Taylor Greene’s Account

The personal account of Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene, a Republican of Georgia, was permanently suspended by the company on Sunday after they said she had violated its misinformation policies.

Ms. Greene's account will not be restored because she had a fifth strike. She was hit with a fourth strike by the company after she lied about the vaccines failing. She was given a third strike less than a month later when she said that Covid-19 was not dangerous for people unless they were obese or older.

The account that Ms. Greene uses to communicate with congress is still active because it did not violate the service's rules.

According to the strike system for this policy, we will permanently suspend accounts for repeated violations.

A request for comment was not immediately responded to by Ms. Greene.

The United States has seen a resurgence of coronaviruses from the Omicron variant. New York State recorded over 85,000 new coronaviruses cases on the last day of the year, the highest one-day total in the state since the outbreak began.

Users are not allowed to share misinformation about the coronaviruses that could lead to harm. The company introduced a policy in March that explained the penalties for sharing information. Strikes can be used to punish people who violate the policy, and they could face a permanent ban if they share misinformation about the virus.

This is a breaking news story and will be updated.
