Lionel Messi: PSG forward tests positive for coronavirus

The club have confirmed that Lionel Messi and three other Paris Saint-Germain players have tested positive for coronaviruses.

Juan Bernat, Nathan Bitumazala, and Sergio Rico are all in a state of isolation.

In the last six matches, Messi has played for Paris Saint-Germain, including their defeat to Manchester City and win over Club Brugge in the group stage of the playoffs.

They will not play in the French Cup against Vannes on Monday but may play against Lyon next Sunday.

If you test positive for the coronaviruses, you will only have to stay in France for seven days, but if you show a negative test you can leave after five days.

The country has recorded more than 200,000 cases in a single day for the fourth day in a row.

In 16 games for Paris Saint-Germain, Messi has six goals, and he joined the club in August.

The Brazilian will be out for three weeks with an ankle problem.

The update on the ankle injury that has kept him out of eight games for Paris Saint-Germain was issued by the club.

He is expected to return to training in about 3 weeks.

After 19 matches, Paris Saint-Germain are top of the table with 46 points, 13 more than second-place Nice.
