According to an Apple analyst, Apple's second-generation AirPods Pro will feature Lossless audio and a charging case that can emit a sound for location tracking purposes.
In a note to investors, seen by MacRumors, it was explained that the second-generation AirPods Pro will feature new selling points that will lead to strong demand, including support for Apple Lossless audio and a charging case that users can invoke a sound from to highlight its features.
It is likely that this charging case will be integrated into the Find My app, similar to how users can emit a sound from their individual AirPods inside the case to help find them. This is in line with the leaked photos of the next-generation AirPods Pro, which showed a charging case with speaker holes to emit a sound for location tracking, allowing the earbuds and the case to be located separately.
Lossless audio is not supported by all of Apple's current products. This is due to the fact that AirPods only play audio in the AAC format. It is possible that Apple could develop an alternative solution to streaming higher quality Apple Lossless Audio Codec files directly to the AirPods.
The next-generation earbuds will have a new design in the fourth quarter of 2022, which is slightly later than the third-quarter prediction suggested by other rumors. The second-generation AirPods Pro is rumored to support health monitoring features, but no one associated this rumor with the second-generation AirPods.
