Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant didn't hold back after a disappointing 120-116 loss to the LA Clippers on Saturday night. He was angry that the Nets dropped their second game in a row, and that they did so against a team he thought Brooklyn took for granted.

"We relaxed too much," he said. We didn't deserve to win this game, because we missed a layup, gave up a straight-line drive, and got a fast break. We came in with a bad attitude. We were going to walk into a W.

The Nets allowed the Clippers to play without Paul George and other players who are dealing with injuries and health and safety protocols, as well as coach Tyronn. The team's intensity wasn't where it needed to be from the beginning.

When asked why the Nets' attitude was the way it was, Durant said it was natural. They're going through a lot. You don't think you could lose an NBA game. How many guys are they missing? The guys are from the G League. Xavier Moon hit some shots for them. We came in too chill to start, and I think Keon Johnson, James Ennis, and all of them made an impact on the game.

The Nets added to their own issues by turning the ball over 15 times, but it was the lack of attention to detail, especially on the defensive end, that did Nash's group in.

Nash said that giving up 71 points in the second half is unacceptable. We never had the care factor. We had a chance up nine, 10, 11 in the third and fourth and just took our foot off the gas and got what we deserved. All those guys are disappointed, but it's a disappointment for all of us because that was a very winnable game that we let get away.

Nash said that his team would have to take the performance to heart and rebuild. James Harden said he didn't know why the "care factor" wasn't there for the Nets, who are now 23-11 on the season.

"I'm not sure," Harden said. That's a good question. I don't know. I knew we wanted to win, but I wondered if we were willing to do the things that would win the game. I don't think we did that from the beginning of the game, and I think we let the team hang in the game for four quarters and things like that.

After such a poor performance, the team hopes to learn from its mistakes.

"Hopefully a loss like this is in your mind until Sunday," he said. "Go out there and understand what your job is and how you can be the best at it and how you can bring it to the collective." It is always about the collective. If you're not feeling well after this game, then you need to look in the mirror.

Both players and coaches need to speak up in the wake of that loss.

"Obviously I tell them that can't be us," Nash said. That can't be the level that we are going to accept. We have to decide what is acceptable for us.

When asked how confident he was that the Nets would bounce back from this type of loss, he echoed a similar sentiment.

"If we don't approach the game in the proper way, we're going to get our ass kicked," he said. It's about the group. It's about how we're going to come out here and be the best we can be. Tonight was not one of those nights.
