It was a record-breaking day for Ohio State wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba.

The Rose Bowl receiving-yard record, the Ohio State single-game receiving record and the Ohio State receiving record for a season were all broken by Smith-Njigba.

Terry Glenn's school record of 253 yards was broken by Smith-Njigba with 257 receiving yards through the third quarter. Glenn had nine catches, whereas Smith-Njigba had 10.

Smith-Njigba broke the Ohio State record for most yards in a game by a running back and the Rose Bowl record for most yards in a game by a quarterback. The sophomore broke David Boston's single-season record of 1,435 yards in 1998.

Smith-Njigba was up to 358 receiving yards on 11 catches to begin the fourth quarter, which put him at 1,547 yards on the season. He became the only Ohio State receiver to ever have two 200 yard receiving games, as he put up over 200 yards against Nebraska.
