Elon Musk Fans Furious That He Posted Antivax Meme

Musk angered a lot of his fans when he posted an anti-vaxxer meme.

The two characters are shown in a pixelated way. A person has been injected with a lot of shots and is wearing a mask with a code on their head. The meme is called "Yes Chad" and it is a character who acts as a voice of reason. A thought bubble shows the characters wondering why they aren't dead yet.

A disgruntled fan asked, "Why?", after seeing a pro- and antivax line of thinking in the same day.

One user wrote that it was anti-vax bullshit. The unvaccinated are dying. The antivaxxer is a drug addicted hero in the cartoon. It isn't an equal take on vaxers and anti-vaxers.

The original post had more than 1,000 comments and was also posted in r/subredditdrama. Musk touched a nerve on both sides of the vaccine thought spectrum.

Many Musk fans were upset about his anti-vax beliefs and the spread of misinformation.

One user said that the take was always pure foolishness. It seems that the internet doesn't play a huge role in spreading anti-vaxxers' rhetoric.

Musk has a history of making false claims. He refused to close the factory even as the city ordered a shelter in place. He refused to get a vaccine. He later posted a meme of Bill Gates using the vaccine to control his mind.

Musk seems to be out of his depth on public health issues. The Kaiser Family Foundation says that 78 percent of adults have heard at least one false statement about vaccine safety, and that they aren't sure if it's true.

The science is clear.

The UK Health Security Agency concluded that protection against hospitalization from vaccines is good.

There is an active outbreak of COVID-19 at the SpaceX HQ.
