It's a good way to start the new year with some violence and a bald eagle. The new trailer for Peacemaker was dropped at midnight as the clock hit midnight for east coasters. The new trailer is all about the goofy violence and goofier sense of humor that the movie gleefully indulges in.
After the events of the film, Peacemaker called into action to help save the world again. Peacemaker has given a new crew to ping-pong off of who are maybe just as crazy as Task Force X, instead of having them hang out with a shark man like last time. He makes Peacemaker look smarter. At one point in the trailer, he is wielding a chainsaw. Those two are sure to be an appealing double act.
Some of the jokes in the trailer work better than others. The gags of the film, such as the one where Leota Adebayo puts an extra bullet in someone Peacemaker has already ended, are good. It isn't terribly funny in the moment, but perhaps they play better in the show proper. Even if the jokes are not good, the cast looks like it will have enough chemistry to make up for it, and the chemistry between them seems like it will be fun. It is a show where John Cena jumps into the air as an eagle flies overhead. I didn't know I needed that until I saw it.
On January 13th, Peacemaker will be on the air.
