The most anticipated TV shows coming in 2022

We're not going to wax poetic about the year 2021, the latest in a series of years where we have been on television.

The raft is still afloat. We can't predict what life will bring in 2022, but we can at least be reassured that we are sitting on the couch. We still have 18 TV returns and we can't wait for them in 2022, but we had to narrow it down because we didn't want to offend anyone. It's a good time to be alive.

The television shows we're most excited to watch are in order of release.

1. The second season of Euphoria.

The credit is given to Eddy Chen/HBO.

In the summer of 2019, Euphoria became a cultural sensation, known for its ethereal style and emotionally intelligent approach to coming of age. The first eight episodes of this year will be just as crazy as the first ones. Stop at 1:39 and ask what is happening with Cassie.

Two special episodes were released in late 2020 and early 2021. They chronicle the aftermath of Rue and Jules' split in the Season 1 finale, so be sure to catch them before the new episodes start airing. Lexi, Fezco, and more also return.

The second season of Euphoria will premiere on January 9.

2. This is us season 6

It's been six years since the premiere episode of This Is Us delivered the now-iconic "they're related!" twist. Few Season 1 watchers could have predicted that the Pearson family dynamic would change in six years. Kevin has grown from a self-absorbed sitcom actor into a thoughtful and romantic family man. Kate's marriage to Toby began to break up. Randall is a politician who's taking initiative to work on his mental health, and the kids are all right.
The Pearsons' story will be brought to a satisfying conclusion in the sixth season of This Is Us. When it's gone, what will we do? How will we make sure that Sterling K. Brown is nominated for an award? Who will tell us to get in the corr if Jack Pearson isn't around? For the last time, there are many questions and a lot of answers.

The final season of This Is Us will premiere on NBC.

3. A peacemaker.

The credit is courtesy of HBO Max.

The first time DC made a movie about the all-villain Task Force X was in The Suicide Squad. Nothing came before that. The Suicide Squad introduced a huge roster of DC villains to the on-screen universe, including Polka-Dot Man, King Shark, and John Cena's hilarious take on Peacemaker. The kind of guy who thinks his pursuit of peace makes him a hero is called Peacemaker. He's willing to kill hundreds of people in order to achieve peace. Peacemaker's "hero's journey" will continue in his eponymous HBO Max TV show, which will explore his origins.

On January 13th, Peacemaker will be on the air.

4. The era before the birth of the moon.

The creator of the television show "Downton Abbey" is best known for his show about the generationally wealthy upper class of a given society slowly losing their relevancy in favor of newcomers and outsiders who threaten their way of life by encroaching on their traditions.
They're in New York, not the Gilded Age. If you liked the show, you're going to love it.

The Gilded Age will premiere on January 24.

5. The party is over.

The credit is courtesy of Apple TV+.

If you love Search Party or Only Murders in the Building, you'll love this crime-comedy series that's just as stuffed with stars. It's Clue and the high school reunion are both about partying and death. Tiffany Haddish, Sam Richardson, Zo Chao, Ben Schwartz, Ike Barinholtz, Ilana Glazer, Jamie Demetriou, and Dave Franco star. That's not the only thing. The Afterparty was created by Chris Miller and Phil Lord, the brains behind 21 Jump Street and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-verse. Is it a rom-com? Musical? Is it a neo-noir? What is the action? Nothing is off-limits. We can't wait!

The Afterparty is on Apple TV+.

6. Anna was invented.

When Anna Delvey's story broke, it was one of the few that was so captivating. Delvey conning New York's wealthy and elite for massive amounts of money for years. Julia Garner plays Delvey in the Shondaland series, as she waits for her fate in prison and begrudgingly speaks to a reporter. The idea of Anna is so intriguing that we may never know her real name.

On February 11th, you can watch Inventing Anna.

7. Bridgerton Season 2 continues.

LIAM DANIEL/NETFLIX is a credit.

After its 2020 debut, Shondaland's steamy period drama made us all burn with longing, and the tonne will soon be abuzz with more juicy gossip. The second season of Bridgerton follows the courting of the eldest sibling Anthony (Jonathan Bailey) with new arrival Kate (Simone Ashley) The whispers, romance, and buried secrets of the tonne will keep us coming back every season, even though we may not have seen the last of the Duke and Daphne.

The second season of Bridgerton will be on the streaming service.

8. The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty was the winning time.

The LA Lakers are the most popular basketball team in the world, with Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. They had time for showtime. They had the world's biggest celebrities at every home game. Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty will tell the story of how the Lakers went from one of several NBA teams to the team that made superstars of its players. The show is based on a book by Jeff Perlman, called Showtime: Magic, Kareem, Riley, and the Los Angeles Lakers Dynasty of the 1980s.

Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty is a new show.

9. The Lord of the Rings is a movie.

Amazon Prime Video

Don't expect to see Frodo and company anytime soon, because Amazon Prime's Lord of the Rings is not an adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien's classic trilogy. The rise and fall of Nmenor and the forging of the Rings of Power were some of the events that took place during the Second Age of Middle Earth. The Lord of the Rings cover will be announced soon. We're not sure. Prime has only released an image and a map.

It will be a thrill to return to Middle Earth for more high fantasy goodness despite knowing very little about the plot. Prime has proven it can do with The Wheel of Time. Even if it doesn't live up to Peter Jackson's films, this first season of Lord of the Rings is the most expensive season of television ever made, so you can be sure it will look gorgeous.

The Lord of the Rings will be on Prime Video.

A lot of premiere dates are still not fixed due to production schedules and studio commitments. We're anticipating eight more shows whenever they do drop.

10. The House of the Dragon is on Max.

Credit: Hbo.

What do you think? Is there enough time left for us to give Game of thrones another chance? If you think there's been enough time to heal, then you should be getting ready for the Game of Throne spinoff show that didn't get canceled.
House of the Dragon has a lot going for it. It takes place a few hundred years before the events of Game ofThrones so there will be familiarity of seeing Starks, Lannisters, and their ilk without dealing with the exact characters we loved. It's supposed to tell the story of a civil war amongst dragon riders, which is objectively awesome. George R.R Martin's material is the most important part of House of the Dragon because it means no one gets to decide they're bored and finish the show with a bullet-point outline of how the story might go. Imagine that.

11. Disney+ has an Obi-Wan Kenobi movie.

What will Obi-Wan's Disney+ adventure look like?

The series is going to tell a story about 10 years after the events of Revenge of the Sith, and it's going to have a connection to the Star Wars universe. Obi-Wan is charged with defending the best hope for the future of the Jedi, a young Tattooinian orphan namedluke, after the Jedi Order is gone, and Darth Vader has been reborn.

The history and future of the Jedi Master at the center of the show is already written, which is a significant point in time for the Star Wars universe. It's great to hear that the series will explore Alec Guinness, but there are lots of questions about what will happen.

12. Disney+ has TV shows from the Phase 4 of the superhero universe.

Credit: Disney.

Disney+ television debut in 2021, but not so hard for Marvel. Disney+ has ensured our continued subscription based on the MCU alone, from WandaVision's innovative format and introspection to Falcon and the Winter Soldier's action-movie energy, to Loki's mischievous charm and gorgeous visuals and Hawkeye's surprising satisfiaction. We're really itching for more Daredevil, and She-Hulk is the closest we'll get to a solo outing for Mark Ruffalo's Hulk, teaming up with his cousin. We have to emotionally prepare for Secret Invasion, starring Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury. We'll need a break by the time the holiday special for the movie is released.

13. The third season of The Mandalorian is on Disney+.

The Child was the title of The Mandalorian for two seasons. The baby is called Baby Yoda. Grogu stole the show. The Season 2 finale changed everything because we loved watching Din Djarin go on space adventures to save his bebé. Grogu is going to Jedi school and we may never see him again. What is the purpose of the weekly space caper structure? The show used to be about an accidental dad, but now he is the master of the Darksaber, meaning he is going to rule. We will have to trust the Force as always because Jon and Dave have proved their ability to expand the universe.

14. The fourth season of Stranger Things is on the streaming service.

The credit is given to:

You will know when the show returns.

The fourth season of the popular sci-fi dramedy wrapped up in September. The new episodes don't have a release date yet. There's a lot to theorize about in the meantime, since the finale of the show aired all the way back in 2019.

What happened to Eleven's powers? How did the Russians get a weapon? Is that beloved character still alive? Will Mike and Eleven make it through their relationship? We can't be sure until we're back in the Upside Down, so we had a sneak peek in November.

15. The Last of Us is on the cable channel.

Video games are a big business in Hollywood. The Last of Us is a first-time entry into the genre for HBO. The series is about two survivors of an apocalyptic epidemic that's turned most of the world's population into mushroom zombies. The plague was caused by the spores of a deadly fungus.

The Last of Us has all the hallmarks of a serious production, with a creator team that includes Craig Mazin, who created the award-winning mini-series Chernobyl. We can't wait to see how the film comes to life, but we don't know if it will arrive in 2022.

16. The Witcher: Blood Origin is on the streaming service.

The credit is for the premiere pro

The audience threw their coins at the streamer when The Witcher became a hit. Now, there is going to be a lot of things on the Witcher. In addition to the animated Nightmare of the Wolf prequel that will be released in 2021, The Witcher: Blood Origin will be an even more prequel-y prequel that takes place thousands of years before Geralt of Rivia was born. The Conjunction of the Spheres was an event in the history of the Continent that brought the elves, men, and monsters together for the first time. Since the Conjunction brought monsters, someone had to come up with the idea to make humans monsters.

Harley Quinn is on Max.

The best news from the DC FanDome was confirmation that Harley is coming back for a third season on the show.

The animated comedy centered on the baseball bat-swinging anti-hero is an unskippable highlight of the streaming service. Harley set out on a journey of self-discovery after a brutal break-up with her long-time beau, the Joker, as she learns what it means to be independent, work as part of a team, be social, and even love.

Constantly surprising and grounded in a rippling emotional tapestry of carefully constructed relationships, Harley Quinn is a revelation. The story of a girl who just wants to live her supervillain life is one of the best ongoing dramas in the DC Comics library to date, and Season 3 is all-but-guaranteed to be a winner.

18. The Sandman is on the streaming service.

There's a lot going for the upcoming adaptation of Neil Gaiman's comic book series, The Sandman. Dream is introduced in this updated-for-modern-time take.

Dream was summoned to the Earthly plane during the early 1900s. He escapes 100 years later and tries to get back his rightful place. The forces that trapped him all those years ago have other plans. It's not clear how much this series will differ from the comics, but for a story as beloved as The Sandman, the possibilities are endless.
