Ben Roethlisberger said Monday night that he doesn't speak in "guarantees" and that he will probably be his last home game with the team.

"All the signs point to this being the regular season, that is," Roethlisberger said Thursday. If we take care of business and things go our way, we have a chance to potentially get a playoff game there. In the grand scheme of things, there are signs pointing that this could be it.

Roethlisberger, who returned this year after reducing his pay in the offseason, has played his entire 18-year career with the Steelers after being drafted 11th overall in the 2004 class.

Sources told Adam that Roethlisberger told some in the organization and his former teammates of his plans earlier this month.

"It's 18 years, almost half my life, I've given to this city and this team and these fans," the quarterback said. I know I have to do everything I can to get us into the playoffs, and that's the fun thing. To win a Lombardi is the ultimate goal. That is still my goal. We're not out of it yet.

The stakes are high for his last home game. The playoffs are not on the docket for the Steelers. If the Steelers beat the Cleveland Indians, they will be in the hunt for the playoffs, even though the Indians ended their season in the first round a year ago.

My focus is on the game. It's going to be one of the most important games of my career if it is indeed my last regular season game here. I've played in front of the best fans in all of sports, and it's been great. Monday Night Football is a great way to have a last regular season game. It's special.
