The Galaxy Z Flip 3 is stealing customers because regular phones are boring

The latest sales update for the Z fold 3 and Z flip 3 are in, and they exceed expectations in every way possible. It's not impressive that they sold four times the number of foldables as they did in 2020. The lifetime sales of these phones exceeded those of their predecessors in just four weeks.

The other brands have become stagnant and that's why the other brands have started stealing customers from them.

The Z Flip 4 and Z Fold 4 are expected to sell up to 10 million by the time they debut in 2022, but a significant portion of those sales are coming from people who were once enamored with other brands. This is true for the Z Flip 3.

It's more than just an upgrade.

According to internal data from its trade-in programs and other retail data points, there has been a 150% increase in consumers who switched from other brands when compared to the Galaxy Note 20. When compared to the S21, they saw a 140% increase in consumers changing their mind.

The Note 20 and S21 line are just slab phones that are easy to mistake for anything else, even when put into a case, despite their cutting-edge specs, award-winning cameras, and efforts to make the design stand out among the pack.

Consumers don't just want another boring spec upgrade, they want the best phones around. They want something new. The Note 20 and S21 couldn't attract new customers in the same way that the Z Flip 3 can.

Jitesh Ubrani, the research manager of worldwide device trackers, says, "Samsung finds itself in a very favorable position as it's often the only brand with a foldable and no matter what case a user puts or how they hold the phone, it's very easy." This is a key selling point for foldables and it's likely why so many users switch brands.

The Z Flip 3 is attracting new customers to the devices in a way that the Note 20 and S21 never did.

For most people, foldables are a category that hasn't existed in the smartphone space in over a decade. I don't know how many people will see my wife's Z flip 3.

The first question is, "Did you just fold your phone?"

Anshel Sag, a senior analyst at Moor Insights & Strategy, said that people seem to be impressed by the screen size of the Fold 3.

It's this sense of wonder that the Z Flip 3 is a form factor that doesn't deviate from expected norm too much when fully open but completely defies expectations when folded closed, as it's a form factor that has captured this sense of wonder.

You can guess the next question they ask her. Do you like it?

My wife has always said, "I love it."

It's this sense of wonder that the Z Flip 3 has been captured by the Koreans.

This answer doesn't come from a feeling of euphoria that comes from using such a unique device. No, that feeling will go away when you stop looking at the phone every time you fold it and unfold it.

The Z Flip 3 is loved because it fits in a pocket, purse, or other place where giant phones of today simply don't fit. The best part is that you don't have to give up on the large screen since the device unfolds, and that's exactly why people are choosing to use theGalaxy Z Flip 3.

Most of the time, most of the time, most of the time, most of the time, most of the time, most of the time, most of the time, most of the time, most of the time, most of the time, most of the time, most of the Most of the time, a camera that's good enough for the everyday user is what most phones have, and almost all of the time, the same apps and games can be found in the premium price range.

That's another area where the company has shown leadership. The Z Flip 3 was right in line with consumer expectations for premium phones when it was launched. Not only that, but the trade-in programs offered by the company are above and beyond what other companies offer.

"Offering great trade-in deals as well as a price point that's comparable to other flagships has gone a long way in attracting customers from other brands."

The marketing division of the company has done a great job of hyping up the phone, even going so far as to include it in popular TV shows and movies.

I'm pretty certain that I spotted a Z flip 3 on #EmilyInParis2, but I wasn't going to watch it after the first 3 minutes.

Will other brands catch up? Sag thinks that in the year 2022, we will see a lot more foldables and some competition from the likes of the OPPO Find N.

I agree with you, but companies will need to start releasing their foldables more internationally to compete.

The Z Flip 3 is loved because it fits in a pocket, purse, or other place where giant phones of today simply don't fit.

In the case of larger format foldables like the Z Fold 3 and the Find N, companies are going to have to continue software innovation to make those form factors make sense. The Z Flip 3 is an easy sell because of the obvious size benefits, but convincing people that they need a tablet with them at all times is a bit more difficult.

It's not hard to imagine a world where foldable phones are more common than slabs.

Big enough to fit in your pocket and small enough to get things done.

It's perfect for anyone who misses the good old days when hanging up was as dramatic as slamming your phone shut. It's perfect for controlling music, checking messages, or taking selfies with the dual-camera setup.
