A woman tested positive for COVID during a transatlantic flight and isolated for 5 hours in the plane bathroom

A Michigan teacher self-isolated in the airplane bathroom for about five hours after taking a COVID test that came back positive.

"My biggest fear was giving it to the people on the flight," Fotieo said.
Fotieo took a rapid test after her throat began to hurt during a flight out of Chicago.

Fotieo told NBC that there were two lines within two seconds.

She went to the bathroom and recorded her experience on TikTok. She said she stayed there for five hours, most of the time between the two cities.

Fotieo said that a flight attendant named Ragnhildur "Rocky" Eirksdttir made the experience a "VIP quark."

Fotieo said that she made sure he had everything he needed for the next five hours, from food to drinks and constant check-ups.

Fotieo didn't say how recently she had tested negative.

Within 72 hours of departure, a negative test can be taken in Iceland. Fotieo posted a video on Friday suggesting she took a test that came back negative.

When the plane landed, Eirksdttir's attention continued.

Fotieo received a delivery from Eirksdttir after she was in a hotel.
Fotieo told NBC that he was given flowers and a Christmas tree to hang. Fotieo told NBC that she was just an angel.
The Christmas tree can be seen at the end of the video.
Fotieo said in a video that they were stanning Rocky.

The event was not commented on by the airline. The airline was contacted for comment by the Insider.

Fotieo was still posting from the hotel. There is a requirement for people with COVID-19 to be in a 10-day quark.
