5 Products Discontinued by Apple in 2021

We said goodbye to some products this year, but Apple announced several new products, including the colorful iMac and four new models of the iPhone. We've recapped five products that were discontinued by Apple.

There is a device called a HomePod.

Apple discontinued the full-sized HomePod in March of 2021. Apple said at the time that it would continue to provide software updates, service, and support for the larger HomePod.

The $349 price tag for the speaker was more expensive than competing smart speakers like the Amazon Echo and the Google Home, even though it was praised for its sound quality. After Apple lowered the price of the speaker to $299, sales remained lackluster.

The iMac Pro is a computer.

The iMac Pro was the only Apple product discontinued in March of 2021. Apple said the iMac was the preferred choice for most iMac users, and that customers who needed even more performance and expandability could choose the Mac Pro.

The iMac Pro was released in December of last year, but it did not receive any significant hardware refresh over its lifetime, which resulted in the iMac becoming faster and more affordable than the standard iMac Pro with a 10-core Xeon W processor.

Apple is expected to release a high-end iMac with M1 Pro and M1 Max chips next year.

Space Gray Magic accessories.

After the iMac Pro was discontinued, Apple stopped selling Space Gray versions of the Magic Keyboard, Magic Trackpad, and Magic Mouse 2 for the Mac on a stand alone basis. Apple sells accessories in silver.

The iMac has a 21.5-inch screen.

Apple discontinued its final 21.5-inch iMac model in October of 2021. Six months prior to the discontinuation, Apple had introduced an iMac powered by its custom-designed M1 chip.

The iMac, Mac mini, and Mac Pro tower are the only Intel-based Macs left in Apple's lineup.

The new phone is called the iPhone XR.

The iPhone 13 series was launched in September of 2021. The lineup now consists of four models, the iPhone 13 models, the iPhone 12 models, and the iPhone 11 models.

The 6.1-inch display with Face ID, A12 Bionic chip, and a single rear camera are features of the iPhone XR.

The first-generation Apple TV 4K, the fifth-generation iPad mini, and the eighth-generation iPad are some of the products discontinued by Apple this year. The original Powerbeats, Beats Solo Pro, and Beats EP headphones are no longer sold by Apple.
