Brookfield's Jose's Blue Sombrero, Original Pancake House in Milwaukee, Mequon's Anodyne Coffee among restaurants permanently closed in 2021

Arlanderz Soul Food, a restaurant in Menomonee Falls that featured its special hot sauce as well as its soul food selection, has closed, according to an announcement on Facebook.

The restaurant was closing on May 25. It was open for three years. There was no reason given for the closing.

The Arlanderz Chicken & Fish East Side is located at 1814 N. Farwell Ave.

Betty's Burgers and Custard has a double cheeseburger with the works.

The east side vegan restaurant closed permanently on May 20. The dining room was never reopened after the coronaviruses crisis.

The owner said that another restaurant is planning to open in the space.

The popular restaurant at the University was closed in April, but hadn't been open since March 2020.

The taqueria was run by a chef for four years. The Laughing taco stand at Fiserv Forum will continue, even though the space is being used for private events.

The restaurant was a passion project for Lucia Muoz.

"It's done its course," he said.

European-inspired small plates by Mina are served at the Collective. The vendor at the east side food hall is closing.

Mina, the food hall that opened in July 2020, closed in November. According to social media posts, it will continue to sell heat-at- home meals.

The double smash burger was served at Mina's European-influenced menu.

The owners said on Facebook that their hearts were heavy and that they had come to know a group of people here. The community here has been helpful and welcoming and we are grateful to have been a part of it.

Oconomowoc's first Irish restaurant closed. The building was on the market for 18 months. "After 20 years, we decided that it was time for us to go," said co-owner Aelred Gannon. We've had a lot of fun with the community.

Wine Maniacs Bar and Bistro was expected to take over.

The cafe is called Quarry Coffee & Cafe.

The cafe closed after 15 years due to the economy and difficulty with a consistent workforce. The restaurant hosted many community events.

Ruggeri's Italian Market has closed.

Andy Ruggeri changed his business model in 2020 and said that everything closed.

Ruggeri bought the bakery that was formerly known as Cakes While U Wait.

Sauce & Spice was one of the original vendors.

The pizzeria has sauce and spices.

In Bay View, Washington Heights and Hales Corners, the Soup Market is open.

Trattoria di Carlo has been in business for 20 years. The restaurant had signature pizzas.

Oak Creek is at 8469 S. Howell Ave.

The popular restaurant closed in June.

Carlo Pedone said in a social media post that the restaurant industry was very challenging and that it was the right decision for his family. He didn't blame the epidemic.

Trattoria's brick oven pizzas had a medium body crust. The family recipe has been around for decades.

The pub food joint at 5513 W. North Ave. closed on August 20. The owner plans to open a bar that serves whiskey and Bourbon.

The Chinese restaurant known for its "modern interpretation of classic dishes” closed in January after more than 30 years in business.

An official from the Shorewood Business Improvement District said that the Pandemic was one of the main reasons for the closing. She said the owner thought it was a good time to retire.
