A right-wing radio host said Trump needs an 'intervention from a friend' after the former president advocated for the COVID-19 vaccine

A right-wing radio host on Alex Jones's radio show said that former President Donald Trump needs an intervention from a friend over his stance on the COVID-19 vaccines.

The vaccines were praised by Trump. During an appearance with Bill O'Reilly, Trump told some people in the crowd not to boo after he revealed he got a booster shot. He praised the effectiveness of the vaccine in an interview with a conservative commentator.

It was not the first time that Trump expressed support for the vaccine, but his comments caused outrage from some of the right.

One of the critics was Wayne Allyn Root. According to The Daily Beast, Root opened for the former president at a Las Vegas rally.

Speaking with Jones, a radio host and conspiracy theorist, on Wednesday, Root praised the former president, saying he considers him a friend, before taking aim at Trump's vaccine comments.

He needs an intervention from a friend, because he's the greatest president of my lifetime. I love him. "I will always love Trump," said Root. He's been right on everything except this issue. He's wrong on this issue.

On his show last week, Jones bashed Trump, saying, "Hell, we're fighting Bill Gates and Fauci and Biden and the New World Order." We've got Trump on their team!

White House press secretary Jen Psaki said the administration was "grateful" for Trump's comments.
