The annual dog show of the New York's Westminster Kennel Club has been canceled as the number of coronavirus cases in the city increases.
The club's board of governors decided to put off the event in 2022. A new date was not given.
The health and safety of all participants in the dog show is of paramount importance. The community's continued interest and support is appreciated as we delay the show to a time when we can safely convene.
The dog show is held in February at Madison Square Garden. The event was held at the Lyndhurst estate in Tarrytown last year. Spectators weren't allowed, and human participants had to be tested.
A French bulldog, an old English sheepdog, a German shorthaired pointer, a Samoyed, and a West Highland white terrier were all in the running for the best in show title.
