Kyle Seager has been in MLB for 11 seasons.

Julie Seager shared a statement on her husband's behalf.

His 1,480 appearances are the fourth-most in franchise history.

Seager had a $20 million option to play in the 2022.

The move was not a surprise.

Seager left the game in the top of the ninth in Seattle's season finale. The home fans were able to bid him farewell.

Seager may have wanted to avoid the headaches by not waiting to see how negotiations progress.
