The Mavericks had two more players enter the NBA's health and safety protocols, which led to the 10-day hardship deal being agreed to by former All-Star guard Isaiah Thomas.

Sources said that center Boban Marjanovic and guard Brandon Knight tested positive for COVID-19.

Thomas is expected to join the Mavericks for the game against the Kings on Wednesday, after he was released by the Lakers.

Dallas has had nine players enter the league's health and safety protocols this month. Reggie Bullock has been cleared after missing the past five games.

A serious hip injury derailed Thomas' career, as he was a two-time All-Star for the Boston Celtics. He played in seven games for the New Orleans Pelicans in April and the Los Angeles Lakers this month after spending most of the past two seasons out of the NBA.

Knight is on a 10-day hardship deal with the Mavericks, and he has averaged over 10 points and 2.5 assists in the past three games.
