Celebs Pay Funeral Expenses of 14-Year-Old Killed by LAPD

A number of celebrities have reached out to the family of the 14-year-old who was shot and killed during the standoff at the L.A. Burlington Coat Factory.

The family's lawyer, Ben Crump, told the website that celebrities in the Hispanic community and beyond have offered to pay for the funeral of Valentina, and that they wanted their names to remain confidential. The support the family has been receiving is overwhelming.

The City of Los Angeles has not made a similar offer.

The Burlington Coat Factory was the scene of a possible shooting last week, as we reported. A man swinging a bicycle chair with a lock attached as he swung at shoppers was brutally bloodying one of them when police arrived.

One of the bullets that was fired by the cop hit her in the chest, and she died in her mother's arms.

We reached out to the Dept. to find out if they had any plans to cover the funeral.
