Dave Chisnall was going to play a third-round opponent.

The third player to withdraw from the World Darts Championship after a positive test for Covid-19 is Dave Chisnall.

The tournament needs to be postponed according to Gerwyn Price.

Englishman Chisnall had been set to play a fellow Englishman in the last 16.

Three-time champion Michael van Gerwen and fellow Dutch playerVincent van der Voort have withdrawn.

Jose de Sousa will play Alan Soutar and Nathan Aspinall will play Callan Rydz in the afternoon session at London'sAlexandra Palace.

The tournament was devalued after Van Gerwen's withdrawal, Price said, adding that he would rather play the best to be the best.

The 36-year-old followed up his initial message on Wednesday to clarify his call for the tournament to be postponed.

"I feel for the players that have had to withdraw, because I've been in their position," said Price.

There's a lot of hard work going into getting events like the World Championship on, so postponing probably isn't the best option.

Rob Cross and Peter Wright are in the last 16.
