Philip Rivers is said to be considering contacting the Indianapolis Colts.

The Colts are competing for a division championship over the last two weeks of the season, and Rivers is being discussed as a possible addition.

The Las Vegas Raiders will be without their star quarterback for Week 17 according to a report by Adam Schefter.

If he tests positive for COVID-19, he will sit out a minimum of 10 days under NFL rules. He would be able to return in Week 18 against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The current protocols would keep him out of the game. It's five days if he's a high risk close contact. He's out 10 if he's positive.

The Colts have won three in a row and six of their last seven to get themselves in a position to win the division. The Indianapolis Colts need to win out and the Tennessee Titans need to lose out to win the division.

After one season in Indianapolis, Rivers retired. While he would have no issues with the system a year ago, Rivers has not played competitive football in nearly a year and would not be ready to play in a high-stakes game in five days.

The team is in a bad position because of the decision to remain unvaccinated by Wentz. Sam Ehlinger is likely to start.
