Anthony Fauci, the White House's chief medical advisor, supports a federal vaccine mandate for domestic air travel.

Fauci said on MSNBC's "Morning Joe" show that a mandate could lead to more people getting vaccinations. He likened requiring vaccinations for domestic air travel to universities and companies requiring students and employees to be vaccine free.

He said that making vaccination a requirement would encourage more people to get it. If you want to do that with domestic flights, that's something that should be considered.

70% of US adults are fully vaccine free. According to the CDC, the vaccination rate is 65.6% for individuals 5 and older.

There have been an average of more than 200,000 cases per day for the last seven days.
