Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene denounced Kwanzaa as a 'fake religion created by a psychopath'

Millions begin to celebrate the weeklong holiday after Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene called it a fake religion.

The College Republican National Committee, a national organization of conservative college students, made a statement.

Wishing you a happy and prosperous Kwanza, the group posted on Sunday.

The organization is turning people away by posting the holiday greeting, according to the reply from the organization.

"Stop." It's a fake religion created by a person. You are turning away new voters. People are tired of being lied to.

December 26, 2021 is Marjorie Taylor Greene's birthday.

According to the National Museum of African American History and Culture, Professor Karenga introduced the idea of a weeklong celebration called "Kwanzaa" in 1966.

According to the Los Angeles Times, Karenga was sentenced to prison in 1970 for the assault of two members of the US Organization, a Black nationalist group based in Los Angeles.

The GOP previously offered holiday greetings to those who celebrate the holiday despite the fact that she wrongly called it a religion.

Donald Trump issued a statement saying "let us celebrate during this joyous time the richness of the past and look with hope toward a brighter future."

"As families and friends join to light the Kinara, we extend our warmest wishes for a joyful holiday season and a prosperous year to come," the former president's statement continued.

The Republican National Committee wished people a happy holiday.

Wishing those celebrating a joyous time with loved ones and a time of meaningful reflection ahead of the New Year.
