Five days of isolation followed by five days of wearing a mask around others is what the updated guidance calls for.

The CDC said that those who are fully vaccine and boosted should not have to wear a mask, but should wear one for 10 days after exposure.

The CDC recommends that anyone who has not received a booster for six months or been exposed to unvaccinated people wear a mask for five days.

The Omicron variant has the potential to impact all aspects of our society, according to the CDC director. The CDC's updated recommendations for isolation and quark balance what we know about the spread of the virus and the protection provided by vaccination and booster doses.
