Jimmy Garoppolo's injury was described as a thumb injury. He will see how he feels as the week goes on.

If Garoppolo is ready to go, starter reps will be given to Trey Lance.

In 14 games, Garoppolo has thrown for 3,494 yards and 19 touchdown.

He was hurt in Week 4 against Seattle and missed the rest of the season. The quarterback was able to return after the bye with one missed start.

Garoppolo has only played one full 16-game season in his career. He missed 10 games in 2020 because of ankle issues, and just three games in 2018?

Lance, the third overall pick in the draft, has only started one game this year.
