Duke Blue Devils men's basketball expected to postpone next 2 games because of COVID issues

Sources told ESPN that Duke's men's basketball games against Notre Dame and Clemson are expected to be postponed because of issues within the program.

Multiple sources said the Notre Dame game on Saturday will be postponed, but an announcement is expected soon.

The rapidly spreading omicron variant led to the modification of the rescheduling policy by the ACC. If a new date can't be found, the game will be considered a no contest. A minimum of seven players and one coach are needed for the conference to play.

Duke hasn't played since last Wednesday.

The Blue Devil are one of the nation's elite teams this season. They opened the season with a win over Kentucky. In late November, there was a Gonzaga in Las Vegas. They lost at Ohio State in the Big Ten Challenge.

Duke's next game is against Georgia Tech.

Duke's site was the first to report the postponements.
