The Walking Dead’s Norman Reedus Either Is Or Really Wants To Be The MCU’s Ghost Rider

The Walking Dead.

AMC.

There are new rumors surrounding the MCU, and one of them is that there will be a Ghost Rider movie, and that the movie will be the first one since the Agents of SHIELD movie five years ago.

Speculation is rife that it could be Norman Reedus from The Walking Dead. Reedus is known for killing zombies on that show. If Reedus is known for two things, it is riding around on a motorcycle so much that AMC gave him his own show where he just rides around on his motorcycle with other actors.

Reedus is driving speculation on this due to his behavior on social media, but what is clear is whether these talks are happening or not. Fans and reporters have noticed that he is liking the idea of being Ghost Rider or that the actor in talks for the role may be him.

This isn't just an accident like or two. In the last ten days, Reedus has liked 27 posts about being cast or potentially cast as Ghost Rider, including many who said he would be a better choice to play Johnny Blaze than Keanu Reeves, who has also been rumored to be taking a Marvel role soon.

Nic Cage played Johnny Blaze in two non-MCU Ghost Rider movies, one in 2007, and the other in 2011. Nic Cage is starring in a Ghost Rider movie and they were absurd. There were no regrets about that casting back in the day.

If Norman Reedus joined the MCU as Johnny Blaze, he would be the first Walking Dead cast member to do so. Far from it. Danai Gurira is an actress who has played Okoye in several movies. You may not know, but Ross Marquand is an actor who plays Red Skull in the movie What If... Michael Rooker played the brother of Daryl Dixon in two movies. Lauren Ridloff played a love interest in Eternals. Many people think Jon Bernthal will return to the MCU someday.

There is some precedent here, and it is clear that Reedus has a number of friends on The Walking Dead who could be considered for a role in the MCU. This is a big role. Is it possible to lead an entire film or series? No one else from the show has reached that level yet.

I am all for it. I think you need more than an actor's love of motorcycles to find the right casting for Ghost Rider, but I can see him in the part. In the MCU, fan casting rarely works out, and they tend to make a lot of left turns with actors you don't see coming. I would be surprised if this did work out in the end, but we will have to wait and see.
