DeMarcus Lawrence pick-six puts Cowboys in control early against Washington

9:00 PM

Lawrence is trying to make sure that the Cowboys' defense wins its wager with the offense when it comes to turnovers and touchdown.

Lawrence read the eyes of Washington Football Team quarterback Tyler Heinicke, who was looking for running back Jonathan Williams on an underneath route on third-and-seven, and came down with the pick six.

He wasn't going to let Saahdiq Charles get away with a 40-yard touchdown return to give the Cowboys a 21-0 lead in the first quarter.

Lawrence's touchdown was the sixth by the Cowboys' defense this season, the most in franchise history. The 17th Cowboy to score a touchdown this season is a team record.

The defense had a 4-2 advantage in the turnover debate going into the game, and after turnovers from Lawrence and Trevon Diggs, the advantage is still with the defense.
