According to Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium, Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green has been placed in the NBA's health and safety protocols.

Green had eight points, eight rebound and 10 assists in the Warriors' Christmas Day win over the Phoenix Suns.

Steve Kerr described Green's injury as "nasty" and said he would be out for a while. The injury didn't force him to miss any time, even after he appeared in each of the Warriors' first 11 games. He has sat out two games for rest.

The three-time All-Star's high-end impact at the defensive end is a critical part of Golden State's success. He has averaged 8.0 points, 7.9 rebound, 7.5 assists, 1.4 steals and 1.2 blocks so far in the campaign.

When Green is out, Bjelica should get the biggest increase in playing time. It could allow more chances for Juan and Jonathan to join the Dubs rotation.

The Warriors' hot start should allow them to absorb the occasional blow, as they've already weathered the storm with starting shooting guard Jordan Poole in health and safety protocols. Without Green, the defense could see a drop-off.
