As Apple nears its launch, it makes sense to hire Meta, who has been the market leader in headsets. Meta's Oculus Quest 2 was one of the top-selling products on Black Friday and Cyber Monday. The Meta app was the number one free app on the App Store in the US on Christmas Day, and was the number one free app on the Play store today, a sign that a lot of people received the headset as a gift this holiday.

Apple is still tight-lipped about the product, despite rumors about it. The headset could cost $3,000 and come with 8K displays, along with 3D sensors for hand tracking, according to a previous report. The headset may have to rely on a connected device for tasks that are processor heavy. We might not have to wait too long for Apple to officially announce the headset. The mixed-reality headset could be launched in 2022, according to Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.
