A source told ESPN that the Jacksonville Jaguars lost their best offensive player on Sunday when running back James Robinson suffered a partial tear of his left ankle in the game against the New York Jets.

Robinson came out of his stance in the backfield in the first quarter and sustained a noncontact injury. He grabbed his left foot after falling to the ground. He was helped off the field and taken into the locker room via a cart with a towel draped over his head.

Robinson missed one game in November because of injuries.

There are only two other backs on the active roster. The team signed a new player, but he is inactive.

Robinson has 979 yards of total offense and 767 yards of rushing offense. Robinson had three carries for 10 yards.

Robinson had the most scrimmage yards and rushing yards in the common draft era.
