Vice President Harris discouraged blaming the unvaccinated and instead urged 'individual power and responsibility' to fight the latest COVID-19 surge

Vice President Harris urged Americans to get their vaccinations and booster shots, despite the recent surge of the coronaviruses, and avoided placing blame on unvaccinated individuals.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with CBS's "Face the Nation" on Sunday, Harris said "it is no one's fault that this virus hit our shores or hit the world" and cautioned that she does not believe this is a time to point fingers.

Harris told Margaret Brennan that it was more about individual power and responsibility and that everyone had the choice to make it. I urge people to make a choice to save their lives and prevent hospitalization if they get vaccine and booster, because it is clear that everyone has the ability to do that.

According to data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, an estimated 62% of eligible Americans are fully vaccineed, and 32% have received a booster shot.
The Omicron variant of the COVID-19 has caused a rise in cases across the country, and Dr. Fauci warned Americans of a "really dark time ahead" in January.
Scientists are trying to make sure tests and shots work against the new variant. Moderna stated its booster shot increases the amount of antibody against the Omicron variant, while Glaxo said its drug works against all Omicronmutations.
Harris said that the Biden administration did not anticipate the Omicron variant's impact.
We didn't see Omicron coming. Harris told the Los Angeles Times that the awful virus has a variety of variations.

Harris spoke about the administration's determination to pass the agenda, as well as the lack of progress on voting rights legislation and the withdrawal from Afghanistan.
