When this post was scheduled and published, we received a $35 credit on our Platinum cards. Some of the credits were clawed back. The rest of the credits will probably be clawed back soon, as it looks like this is just a mistake. Bummer!
Happy holidays from American Express! Many or all? The Amex Gold cardholders received an extra $10 in cash.
On Christmas Day, I received a notification from the food delivery service that my $10 monthly Amex award would be ending on January 1. I assumed it was a delayed notification as I knew I had already received our $10 credits for December on the night of November 30.
Nick asked if anyone else had received the $10 credit. When I checked my app, I saw that I had received a $10 bonus. We only received one credit because we have two Amex Gold cards registered on my account and so receive two $10 credits each month. After 1.5 hours another $10 appeared.
I am assuming that these were gifts that were unexpected, rather than a glitch, since Amex Gold cardholders received these $10 bonus credits on the day of Christmas. Amex Gold cardholders will receive a $10 bonus on top of the standard $15 in December, so it will be interesting to see if this is a one-off gift or a permanent enhancement. Maybe there was an intern working on Christmas Day who was worried that the bonus credits for December hadn't gone out, not realizing they were only for Platinum card holders. It's a nice bonus to get an extra $10 on your Amex Gold card.
