Leeds v Aston Villa postponed because of Covid-19 cases at Yorkshire club



The last time the English club played in the premier league was on December 18th.

The game that was to be played on Tuesday at the Yorkshire club has been postponed.

On December 26th, the game atLiverpool was called off.

There were no new Covid cases, but the majority of those who had already tested positive were still isolating so there was not enough recognised first-team players.

There were 14 games that were postponed in December.

The most recent round of testing of players and staff revealed a record 90 positive tests, but the clubs decided not to make any changes to the festive schedule.

The clubs were told at the meeting that if they have 13 fit players, plus a goalkeeper, they should fulfill their games.

The board accepted the postponement application because the club does not have enough players for the match.

Steven Gerrard was also going to miss the game because he was isolating with Covid-19.

The Wolves vWatford game has been postponed because of the virus, while Crystal Palace will not play at Spurs because of the positive coronaviruses test of their boss.
