Ron Perlman is Evil, Will Convince Pinocchio That Fascism is Cool

Did you know there are two versions of the story? One of them is from Disney, but the other is from del Toro. The new take on the classic character will certainly draw attention when it releases next year, as the director of the recently released Nightmare Alley and Shape of Water has a new take on it.

Ron Perlman talked about his involvement in the upcoming stop motion movie while speaking to Inverse. The new take on the character will be set in 1930s Italy during Mussolini's fascist rule, and according to Perlman, the new setting will involve a lot of violence. The film says that the perfect soldier is not human. He doesn't ever question orders. He does not have fears. He is invulnerable.

The sound of a child soldier sounds crazy, and the character of Mangiafuoco will serve as a dark mentor like an evil Jiminy Cricket. I play a pro-fascist city father who is trying to manipulate a young boy to represent the cause. Manipulating people is a role that Perlman is familiar with, so it is perfect casting. The fascists would want the future real boy to help keep the regime in check because he is invulnerable and needs all the things the perfect soldier needs to be.

You can call it perfect casting because of how much Perlman knows about manipulating people. The new film by del Toro, which explores twisted family dynamics and complicated relationships, sounds like it will be worth watching. More than that Disney remake, which is more important. Both movies will serve as an aperitif until the real hot release, which will be a game where you're Pinocchio with a flamethrower arm.
The film by del Toro will be on the streaming service in late 2022.
