Los Angeles Clippers forward Paul George will be out for three to four weeks with a torn ulnar collateral ligament in his right elbow.

The news of George's diagnosis was broken by Adrian Wojnarowski.

George missed 2 weeks with an elbow injury, but returned to play against the Spurs and Kings this week. He had a tear in the ulnar collateral ligament after he felt pain. They will see how elbow responds to rest in the next 3 to 4 weeks.

George has averaged 24.7 points, 7.1 rebounds and 5.5 assists this season.

The six-time All-NBA team member was traded to the Clips in the middle of the season.

The Clippers had never reached a conference finals before, but that changed thanks to George, who averaged 23.3 points and 6.6 rebound last year.

He became the team's unquestioned top star when Leonard suffered a partially torn knee in the Western Conference semifinals.
Despite the loss of Leonard, George led the Clips to wins in Games 5 and 6 to propel L.A. to the conference finals.

The Clips have a 17-15 record but are a cut below the West's elite tier featuring the Golden State Warriors, Utah Jazz and Phoenix Suns.

L.A. is also likely to miss the play-in tournament, as it has played well in the All-Star campaign.

George missed the first game of the season because of rest. He missed five games starting on December 8 with a right elbow contusion.
