After the end of the X Lives/X Deaths of Wolverine series from Ben Percy, Joshua Cassara, and Federico Vicentini, the next issue of the X Lives/X Deaths of Wolverine will be called "Destiny of X." The new phase will bring new books, including a book by Lucas Werneck and a book by Kieron Gillen, which is a companion piece to the main X-Men book. Power struggles occur between the group after Magneto leaves the Quiet Council. Gillen, who has not written the X-Men since 2011, described it as a book about Krakoa, about the Quiet Council, and all its muffled screams.
There will be two books in March, one of which will be a re-release of the Mutant pirate-romp Marauders. Kate will lead a new team consisting of Daken, Tempo, Psylocke, Bishop, Aurora, and Somnus, as they continue ferrying Mutants to Krakoa. They will need to help uncover a mystery relating to the early ancestors of Mutantkind, and they will be joined by Charles' evil twin, Cassandra Nova. In a statement, he said she was a little bit Catherine Trammel and the Marauders were the only hope for success. The primary X-Men book is releasing an issue in March, but that appears to be a transitional issue before it becomes part of the "Destiny" phase in April.
In April, there will be a one-shot focused on the recently revived Thunderbird from the AEW, a book about the recently revived X-Force with Robert Gill, and a book about the recently revived Giant Size X-Men with David Cutler. The new X-books will include a new solo by Chris Claremont and Sid Kotian, as well as a new solo by Al Ewing and Stefano Casslli. The sequel to Excalibur, Knights of X, will feature a group of Mutants stranded in Otherworld and will be directed by Tini Howard and Robert Quinn.
There are no creative teams or summaries in the final X-books, which are Legion of X and New Mutants. They will hit in May along with everything else. Maybe, finally, that book that has been bouncing between life and death?
