A man has been arrested after 100 iPads meant as gifts for sick kids were stolen from a children's hospital

A man has been arrested on suspicion of theft after 100 iPad were stolen from a children's hospital in the UK.

The tablets were taken from a container outside of the children's hospital in the city on November 19th.

A man was found to have sold 40 iPads to an exchange store in November after police carried out a sweep of the footage and spoke to witnesses.

A man from Halewood was arrested on Thursday and taken to a police station for questioning. He has not been charged with a crime.

The iPads were supposed to be gifts for children in the hospital, according to the detective inspector.

He said that the iPads were bought for sick children and their families at the hospital. "Thanks to the hard work of our officers, we have made an arrest in the run up to Christmas."

"I hope this arrest shows how serious the police are in taking these types of crimes, especially at a place that is at the heart of our community and treats so many children and babies with such complex and specialist conditions," he said.

A man in New Mexico stole a Salvation Army minivan filled with $6,000 worth of Christmas presents for needy children.

Volunteers weren't looking when the theft was carried out.
