A model says she was uninvited from her friend's wedding for looking 'too good' in the bridesmaid dress the bride chose for her

A woman who was going to be a bridesmaid at her friend's wedding was not invited because she looked too good in the dress the bride chose.

Alena Yildiz, who told Insider she is a 21-year-old model based in Germany, took to TikTok earlier this month to share her story with her audience of more than 170,000 followers.

In a video posted on December 13 that has over 10 million views at the time of writing, she wrote that she was not invited to her friend's wedding because she thought she looked too good in the dress she chose for her. The video continued with images of Yildiz in the dress with the caption: " Still took some fire pics in it though."

Yildiz told Insider that she was going to be a bridesmaid at the wedding with five other women, but her friend said she felt upstaged. She said that she had a problem with her because she wore an extravagant dress for her.
Yildiz said the dress cost her 1,200 and each bridesmaid paid for their own outfit. The dress had a corset with a neckline and leaf detailing, as well as a thigh-high side slit.

The model said she sent a video of her wearing the dress to the bride, who she did not want to reveal. Yildiz told Insider that she told him that her dress was too attention-catching.

After the call, she was angry and uninviting me. She said that she thought the bride should have chosen a different dress if she was worried since she chose that dress herself.

Yildiz said she didn't attend the ceremony because she didn't have time to find a new dress and argue with her friend. She told Insider that she is sad that she is no longer friends with the bride. She told Insider that she felt like she had no value to her as a friend.
She said that she was happy for her friend to finally be with the love of her life and to celebrate with her, after they argued after seeing the TikTok video.
Yildiz acknowledged that brides have the right to make requests, such as asking that no one else wear white, but urged others to communicate these rules in a way that avoids disagreements. She said that she thinks that feelings of competition and jealousy are bad for relationships.
"Another woman's beauty doesn't make your beauty fade and I wish more people would understand that and be confident," she said.
