Donald Trump's surgeon general implied that the president waited to support the vaccine until Joe Biden praised him.
The former US surgeon general told CNN that he was surprised that Biden had not praised Trump earlier, and suggested that Trump had been waiting to back the vaccines until he got the mention.

The president's love language is words of encouragement. Adams said that Joe Biden is known for his cooperation.
It took Joe Biden 11 months to finally do what he has been known to do, and that's to reach out across, so what was most shocking was that Donald Trump came out and supported vaccines.
"After he gave President Trump those words of encouragement, he came out and said 'Thank you, I appreciate that.' He applauded it. I hope we see more of that.
John Berman was surprised by Adams' comments.
"Come on, Dr. Adams," he said. Are you saying that Donald Trump didn't praise vaccines until Joe Biden thanked him? That's what he was waiting for?
Adams said that he had studied psychology and psychiatry. That's the truth.
Donald Trump changed his mind. I'm not saying it's right, but I'm not saying it's wrong. You can't deny that he changed his mind and supported vaccinations.
That's a good thing.
Biden said on Tuesday that America was one of the first countries to get the vaccine.
In an interview published Wednesday, Trump endorsed the vaccines.
The vaccine worked. Some people are not taking it. The ones that get very sick and go to the hospital are the ones that don't take the vaccine.
If you take the vaccine, you're protected. The vaccine results are very good, and if you get it, it's a very minor form. People don't die when they take the vaccine.
The coronaviruses vaccine has been supported by Trump. He got a vaccine while he was president and sought praise for it.
He did not get the vaccine in public despite the fact that many other politicians did.
He was booed by a crowd of his own supporters when he announced that he supported vaccines and had received a booster shot.
