A group of Apple employees are planning to walk off their jobs on Christmas Eve in order to encourage a customer boycott.

The worker advocacy group called for a walk out. They want paid sick time and a more respectful workplace.

Most Apple stores in the US are open on Christmas Eve and closed on Christmas Day.

Workers who walk off the job can apply for strike funds through the Coworker Solidarity Fund. The fund is only accepting applications for stipends of up to $5,000.

The tech sector faces increased employee activism.

The company's return-to-office policy forced about 80 Apple employees to push back their return to work by September. The company was forced to delay its return-to-office indefinitely because of the Omicron variant of the coronaviruses.

A group of Apple employees launched a website for coworkers to share their experiences of being mistreated at the tech giant.
