Hawaii Rainbow Warriors out of Hawai'i Bowl due to COVID-19 issues

The Easy Post Hawai'i Bowl was pulled out by Hawaii due to issues within the program and injuries and transfers.

The game was to be played in Honolulu.

The health and safety of our student-athletes is the most important part of this decision. The recent surge in COVID-19 cases has forced us to not participate in the game.

We are upset for our players, coaches, and fans. The staff of the Easy Post Hawai'i Bowl did everything they could for us. The Memphis Tigers made a long trip to Hawai'i. We are disappointed that we can't compete on the field.

Texas A&M and Hawaii are unable to compete in bowls this season because of COVID-19 issues.

"We are disappointed that the bowl won't be played, despite considerable efforts from our many stakeholders, sponsors, supporters, and volunteers who worked hard to make this game a reality," the statement said. The University of Memphis program and its fans were thanked for making the long trip and we hope they enjoyed the unique experience that this event offers.
