CES 2022 organizers insist in-person events will go on even as more exhibitors pull back

The pace of companies announcing they will not be at the show has increased in the last 24 hours, with major companies like Intel and Google announcing their decisions on Thursday afternoon. The Consumer Technology Association that puts on the event says it will push forward with in-person events despite a growing list of cancellation.

Companies from all over the world will be able to launch products, build brands and form partnerships at the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show.

Many of the companies announcing changes in their plans cited health concerns as well as the unknown implications of the omicron variant of COVID-19, but organizers posted a statement from a CEO and MD to justify their decision to push forward. They said that they are confident that attendees can have a productive and socially distanced event in Las Vegas or online. Free rapid tests, masks, and proof of vaccination were previously announced.

The list of companies that will limit availability on Thursday alone includes:

It is Intel.
The internet search engine, Google.
The company is called Lenovo.
The press conference will have a boot.
It is called Waymo.

The CTA said in a statement that it had received 42 cancellation notices. Three of the eight companies that were listed on the event's main page have been removed. Some of the companies that are still on the list are: Sony, LG, and Samsung.
