Amari Cooper Expresses Frustration with Cowboys' Offense Despite Recent Wins

If the season ended today, the Dallas Cowboys would have the second seed in the playoffs. One player thinks the team could be doing better.
While making his weekly radio appearance on 105.3 The Fan, Cowboys wide receiver Amari Cooper was asked if it bothered him that the offense isn't holding up its end of the bargain even though the team is winning. He was frustrated with his lack of targets and the offense.

I have to be honest, it actually does. The defense is playing a huge part in that. We are not as powerful as we should be. We're not converting a lot of their turnovers into points. A lot of them are field goals. Cooper said that he feels like he could be a huge part of that. If I get some targets, I think I can do more in the red zone. If I get the targets, I can do more on third down. I think I can help change that.

The Cowboys have been struggling since quarterback Dak Prescott came back from his calf injury. Dallas averaged 296.5 passing yards, 164.3 rushing yards and 34.2% points per game in the first six games of the season.
The Cowboys have averaged 247.3 passing yards, 104.4 rushing yards and 25.1 points per game in the nine weeks since Prescott returned. Over the last five games, they have just six touchdown in 18 red-zone appearances and 28 touchdown in 52 red-zone trips.
He has taken more of a back seat to CeeDee Lamb. He has 53 catches for 683 yards and six touchdown in 12 games after putting together two straight 1,000-plus-yard seasons. His receiving yards are second on the team, while his six touchdown are tied for first with Lamb.

Cooper has just nine catches for 100 yards and a touchdown over the last three games, so his comments about wanting the ball more should come as no surprise.

Cooper isn't the only player who is upset with the Cowboys offense. Jerry Jones said it was "fair" to say the veteran quarterback and the offense have been in a slump.
Jones was optimistic that the team could turn things around.
Jones said that Prescott would figure it out. That is the most important thing here. He takes it to the practice field and works on it. He is as good or better than anyone I have ever seen and so he will rep this through.

The Dallas Cowboys will play the Washington Football Team, the Arizona Cardinals and the Philadelphia Eagles in the last weeks of the season. The offense will need to find its footing over the next three weeks if it is going to get back on track.
