The New York Giants haven't agreed to an extension with Saquon, though he will be a free agent after the 2022.

He told reporters on Thursday that he would love to stay with the Giants.

Saquon says he'd love to be with the Giants for the rest of his career, but he hasn't had time to focus on his contract.

In his first year in the league, the young running back set the NFL world on fire, rushing for 1,307 yards and 13 touchdown while adding 91 catches for 721 yards and four scores. He lived up to expectations after being the second overall pick.
Injuries have been a major factor. In the year 2020, he missed 14 games with a tornACL and three games with an ankle injury. He missed four games this year because of an ankle injury.
The injuries are more concerning than the fact that Barkley hasn't been as effective. He averaged 126.7 yards from scrimmage per game and 0.9 touchdown per game.
In the 25 games he's played over the past three seasons, he's averaged 88.4 yards from scrimmage per game and 0.4 touchdown per game.
After his first season, he seemed destined for a lucrative contract extension. The level of compensation is in question.
It might be seen as a cautionary tale for teams considering lucrative extensions for running backs, seeing as how he's played in just 10 games over the past two years due to injury. The position of running backs has been under-valued in recent years as more teams use platoons at the position.
The running back has always had a huge fan in the general manager of the Giants, Dave Gettleman.
Stuff happens. Not everything is perfect. In August, Gettleman told reporters that there are big-time players that get hurt. He has done a great job. I feel the same way about him.
