Yoane Wissa on life at Brentford, realising his Premier League dream and that Liverpool equaliser

Yoane Wissa has already written his name in folklore. He was introduced to the fans of the premier league by scoring in the last minute against West ham the following week.

Wissa says that it was the first time he had played in front of his home crowd in the premier league when he played against Liverpool.

I came on and we were down by two and I scored for three. My family was in the stadium and my mother cried. We scored three goals against a big team, one of the biggest in the world, and we drew.

I scored in the last minute and we won. It's not the same feeling, but I think the better thing is that I scored two goals in two games and hopefully I will score a lot of goals again.

The forward is sitting on the floor in a cross-legged yoga-inspired pose and catching the eye.

Yoane Wissa has explained how his goal celebration came about.

He says that his celebration is about being focused. You have to keep working because everything can happen in your life. You will see after that. You can see what's happening if you just live.

Wissa played in France until August of 2021.

Lorient won promotion to Ligue 1 in the 2019/20 season. Wissa was the club's top scorer with 15 goals. He scored 10 league goals in 28 games last season as Lorient avoided being demoted to the second division.

There are highlights from the 3-3 draw in the premier league.

The Sky Bet Championship play-offs were the reason for the promotion to the premier league for the 2020-21 season. The players are guiding the Bees through their first season in the top flight.

It's good because when you change a lot of players, it's hard to keep working well. When I arrived, everyone knew each other and you just have to talk to them.

If you don't speak English, it's hard to know everyone here. It's a new country and I have to improve my English and personality.

The surprise package of the season has to be Brentford. The league took notice of the opening weekend win against Arsenal after the results against West Ham andLiverpool.

Wissa thinks keeping the core of the promotion-winning team has been crucial to the team's success.

He says that the team is good. When I first arrived, it was at the beginning of the season, but when I watched last year, it was a very good team.

They played well after going into the play-off and were unlucky not to go straight into the premier league.

When you beat them 2-0, it's because you work hard and everyone knows you.

Wissa signed for the Bees in the summer, but they tried to get him in January. He stayed and helped Lorient with their fight for survival.

He has followed the competition since he was young and now plays weekly in the premier league.

There are highlights from the win againstWatford.

He says it was the right time because he was ready to step up and play in the premier league. I spoke with Thomas Frank a lot and I think it is the best thing for me. I had to make a decision, and I think it was the best one. I have to work hard.

I have watched since I was seven. I watched the league with my brothers. It is the dream for everyone. I am living the dream because there are a lot of good players and good teams.

The teams are crazy. We played a good game against Chelsea, and we drew againstLiverpool.

I had a good start. I got injured after scoring goals and had to come back. I was not very well off for the game againstWatford, but I have to keep working. I played well in the Carabao Cup quarter-final and I feel like I can keep getting better.

Yoane Wissa is coming back from an injury.

We have a big fight against Brighton on Sunday and then Man City the next day. It's good but we have to be focused and keep working hard because if you rest a little, you lose a lot of games.

Life in London is good. I need to get into a routine, but it's not like in Lorient. It will be good for me and my family because we will have a new routine when we come to a new country. I'm very happy to be at the club.

Sky Sports will show the game between the two teams on the south coast. The Seagulls won the reverse fixture in September thanks to Leandro Trossard's late winner.

Leandro Trossard scored the winning goal in the last game between the two sides.

In their last 11 outings, the Seagulls have failed to take maximum points.

Wissa says they are going to win. A lot of the players are training. We lost in the last minute when they came here, but they haven't won in the last 11 games so we are going to win.

It will be a great battle and hopefully we win.

Does Wissa have any targets for the new year?

He smiles as he says "goals!", before adding "hopefully everybody will be well also." It's a hard time and I think the main thing is health.
