Washington Football Team QB Taylor Heinicke clears COVID-19 protocols

The team announced that starting quarterback Taylor Heinicke is one of three players to be activated.

Heinicke, along with linebacker David Mayo and tight end Temarrick Hemingway, were activated.

Heinicke and Kyle Allen were placed on the reserve list last week and were among the 13 players and seven assistant coaches who missed Tuesday's game. The starting quarterback against the Eagles was the man who was signed off New England's practice squad.

Washington will play the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday, followed by a home game against the Eagles and a road game against the New York Giants. Washington needs to win its final three games to make the playoffs.

Ryan Fitzpatrick was injured in the second quarter of the season opener and Heinicke had started every game since. Heinicke has thrown for 2,931 yards and 19 touchdown in 12 starts. His Total QBR is 22nd in the league.
