The past four games have shown what is wrong with the Tennessee Titans.

Tennessee has lost three games in a row and has turned the ball over 13 times, but in one of those losses, it was zero turnovers.

The Houston Texans defeated the TennesseeTitans 22-13 in Week 11 to ruin the team's six-game winning streak. It was the first time that a team with the best record in the conference lost to the team with the worst record since 1979. Tennessee is the third seed in the playoffs.

Three of the last four games have been lost by the TennesseeTitans.

The defense has 888-492-0 888-492-0ed performances, but the turnovers have been the greatest of them all. The Texans game was an example. Tennessee turned the football over five times.

Tennessee forced 11 turnovers. The defense of the Titans has only registered two turnovers since then.

Kevin Byard leads the team with five picks, but hasn't gotten his hands on a pass in over a month.

"We have to get back to the basics," Byard said. I pride myself on getting a lot of turnovers. I understand how these things work. The coverage has to be coordinated. We have to get back to having fun.

The lack of intercepts isn't limited to the secondary. The quarterback is not being impacted as much by the front four.

Bud Dupree's injury has made it harder to pressure the quarterback. The three games Dupree missed, the Titans had five sacks.

Dupree returned to the field last week against his former team and had one of the team's three sacks, but Tennessee still failed to come up victorious. A lot of the stunts theTitans execute up front are based on how much attention Dupree draws.

The defense has to create more opportunities for the struggling offense to get the ball into the red zone. The offense has to minimize how many opportunities are wasted.

There have been a lot of issues with the offense. Each of them has a story.

The ball is not round, and the team doesn't know which way it is going to bounce, according to the coach. We have to do everything we can to take care of it. Sometimes they make a good play, and sometimes they are our own doing.

Tannehill said to be smart with the ball and put it in a good spot. We have to take better care of the ball. We have to keep moving the ball, but take better care of it.

The issues go beyond the turnovers. The loss of wide receiver and tight end Jonnu Smith to free agency hurt the offense in the red zone.

Through 14 games, tight ends MyCole Pruitt andGeoff Swaim have scored five red zone scores. Smith had the ability to catch the ball out of the backfield or line up over the numbers to create problems for opposing defenses, but neither player has that kind of flexibility.

Losing Davis was supposed to be offset by the acquisition of All-Pro wide receiver Julio Jones. Jones has only 25 catches for 362 yards this season, due to a hamstring injury.

A.J. Brown has missed four games. The TennesseeTitans are 23rd in the NFL in terms of yards per game.

The offense has been hurt by the loss of running back Derrick Henry, who broke his foot in Tennessee's 34-31 Week 8 win over the Indianapolis Colts. Henry is fifth in the NFL in rushing yards despite missing the past six weeks.

The rushing attack of the TennesseeTitans is fourth in the NFL with an average of 142.3 yards per game. Tennessee has rushed for more than 100 yards in each of their past four games.

The San Francisco 49ers have won five of their past six games and will be looking to continue that on Thursday. Nissan Stadium. The 49ers are averaging 126 yards per game on the ground and the game will be a strength against strength.

"They want to play bully ball and run the ball down people's throats," said Jeffery Simmons. They're strength is running the ball and we're strength is stopping the run. It's going to come down to who is the most physical.
