Afcon 2021: Hakim Ziyech not recalled to Morocco squad for tournament in Cameroon

This season, Hakim Ziyech has appeared in 18 games for the Blues.

The Africa Cup of Nations will be held next month, but Hakim Ziyech has not been recalled to the squad.

He missed all six of his country's World Cup qualification this year, and has not played for the Atlas Lions since July.

Wolves centre-back Romain Saiss is included by Vahid Halilhodozic.

The defender is from Paris St-Germain.

The tournament in Cameroon will start on January 9 and last until February 6.

The Africa Cup of Nations squad is complete.

Reports of a falling out between the former club-mates of Halilhodzic has led to the omission of Noussair Mazraoui.

It will be a boost for the Blues if they can get the services of Ziyech in the new year, as they face either Spurs or Chesterfield in the League Cup semi-finals.

The club is going to play in the Club World Cup in February.

The squad for the Africa Cup of Nations was named on Thursday.

The side, ranked 132 in the world, only lost one game in qualification.

They include a player from Red Star Belgrade and a veteran defender from Millwall.

The Indian Ocean islanders have no players in the squad that is based in the Comoros.
